Duccio di Buoninsegna

Duccio was active in Siena by 1278 and spent most of his career there. His large workshop influenced later Sienese and Florentine painters. The Maestà of 1308–1311 combines Byzantine sources with the Pisani's sculpture and French Gothic metalwork.
