Masaccio

Masaccio worked in Florence in the 1420s. The sculpture of his friend Donatello influenced his treatment of the human figure's weight and volume. He collaborated with Masolino on the Brancacci Chapel. Its frescoes allow comparison between two painters within one religious cycle and reveal changes in the early Renaissance.
