Painting by Habiballah of Sava

Active ca. 1590–1610

Habiballah of Sava worked at the Safavid court. Around 1600 he added paintings to an older manuscript of Attar's Language of the Birds and signed one leaf. He brought the new illustration into harmony with the Timurid book while retaining his own treatment of animals, flowers and elongated serrated leaves.
