Sir Edward Burne-Jones
1833–1898

Reading Ruskin at university led Burne-Jones and William Morris to Rossetti, who encouraged him to pursue art. He received little formal training. Alongside painting, he designed for Morris & Company and belonged to the second generation of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
