Workshop of Rogier van der Weyden

The museum attributes this painting to Rogier van der Weyden's workshop; its individual painter is unidentified. It was probably intended for a Carthusian monk's private devotion in his cell. Workshops transmitted a master's compositions and methods to other painters. This attribution retains that connection without assigning every passage to Rogier himself.
